UNDERTALE is a cult classic indie RPG bullet hell mix game made by toby fox , who I used to believe hated horses. It was released in October 2015 & the game involves controlling a kid who's fallen into the underground after a war ebtween humans and monsters, with the monsters being banished underground. You take the role of this kid, and based on your decisions, whether you're a pacifist or decide to kill every monster you find, your actions will reflect on the world and give you endings. Another cool thing about the game is that it remembers everything you do, so when you try to reset the game, the game will know about it. It uses a lot of cool mechanics to make you feel like the game is truly "alive". I love the game and it's inspiring to me ebcause it's a one man game, and gives me hope for my own game. Toby fox developed all of the scripting and music, and got help for some artwork by his friend Temmie who he put in the game as a result.
If this game reminds you of earthbound it's because it's MOTHER series inspired, and toby fox made an earthbound halloween hack, which is where the original megalovania came from, alongside homestuck. Cool, huh? It's kind of like if MOTHER was on crack and also a bullet hell with personalized patterns and attacks for every enemy (I suck at the bullet hells still even though i've replayed over 5+ times). But you don't even have to do most of the bullet hells if you just take some time to talk to the monsters! Each one has unique dialogue and conversations, even the most insignificant of enemies have thought put into them.
A new game, which might or might not be a sequel, is on the works. It's called Deltarune and might give us more info on the mysteries which were left unsolved in Undertale *cough* *cough* like a certain scientist.
Frisk is this little kid that kind of fell into the underground one day and has to deal with all the crazy shit that happens to them. Being the last fallen human, their soul is important and needed for breaking the barrier towards the human world. As I say: Yo mama so fat they used her as the barrier for undertale. Anyways, Frisk is a very sweet kid and I personally see them as mistreated by the fanbase as a sort of gendered self insert, mainly by adults since I don't mind when kids do it. Frisk is basically a genderless/nonbinary little kid but they have their own personality which is shown through ingame interactions, without spoiling much, a lot of the actions Frisk takes in "genocide" routes aren't theirs.
sans is the worst character in undertale. next.
actually sans is the best character. sometimes when i take pills i see golden sans. he is me in every way possible. i'm so sorry. #slenderman he is married to among us impostor in my sims game and has 5 children.l i hate him i hate him i hater him i want him deaded and in the ground i want him dead i loathe him.
ok but fr sans has ruined my life in every way possible i've been kinning him for 7 years and i literally used to tell people irl my name was sans. I hate him. He is a curse upon my bloodline. He makes me really sad. I keep drawing him every single fucking day because he's all I know how to draw. I'm tired of him. I HATE Sans.

undertale is a really special game to me, its one of my longest lasting special interests, i love it so much. i've been into it since the kickstarter, and played it the day it released (though pirated, but i later bought it)
I know almost everything on it, i mean, i spent almost an entire month playing it and exhausting it for content- from theories, to getting all the fun events, the gold armor, fighting and beating sans (even though I had to cheat past undyne), and getting super involved in the community. tons of my friendships and relationships started due to this little game, both irl and online. in middle school i used to bring a sans and gaster binder to school, and i used to think that gaster was real and would come out of the floor at night and take me to undertale (keep in mind i was 13). i was and still am heavily into undertale, it basically shaped my whole life to the point where even when im into something else, i still can talk and infodump about it. i love undertale so much!!
one of my happiest memories is going to the zoo with my ex bf, and us just being kids and yelling determination at everything. actually, the fact that kids are growing up with deltarune now makes me so happy, because i want ppl to experience how happy this series made me. deltarune is also very important to me, and i might make a separate shrine for it connected to this one. if i have to say something on it- toby's skills definetely got better and it shows, the game is much more fun even if the spamton fight traumatized me :') i pretty much played it for 11 straight hours! that's how much i love both games (70 hours on undertale here).
anyways, i won't say a lot more since i don't want to fill it with text, so here's to the game that changed my life!
